GSRP shocking details to PWD Minister of Water-Scam In its meeting with Public Works Department (PWD) Minister yesterday, representatives of Goa Su-Raj Party (Goa Su-Raj Party) presented shocking details of the glaring irregularities in some well-known commercial establishments. GSRP revealed that one of Indias leading hotel brand, popularly known as the crown of Indian hospitality has a PWD 150 cubic meter tank inside its premises, from which 30 cubic meters daily is utilized for the neighboring areas, but 120 cubic meters usage is not known whether its consumed by the hotel. Secondly, the same hotel use large quantities of water, supplied from a private company (which is controlled and owned by a Former MLA of the constituency). Over 60 trucks per day. We demanded that the PWD verify the water source of the tanker-water supplier and whether the hotel has been forced to comply to the former MLA demands on water-supply, expressed Savio Rodrigues, Secretary & President (Youth Affairs). The second hotel is a local home-grown brand that prefers to whisper in the palm leaves: in this case the irregularity is that hotel does not have a water meter at all, therefore it does not pay for water usage but it certainly receives water. The third detail revealed was about a large cement factory in Colvale. This particular cement brand has none other than one of Bollywoods leading icon and his fame will continue for generations to come. At this factory water is directly obtained from a PWD water-pipeline instead of a consumer distribution line, which in its self is illegal and there is no indication of the water-usage. The fourth detail was of a large villa in the Bardez Taluka that is owned by a business baron cum socialite who enjoys the good times. One source of water to the villa is the booster-pumps & tanks, meant only for emergency if there is a water-shortage in the area to be used for the public not selected high-profile individuals. These are details we have uncovered through our investigations. The most important investigations needs to be conducted into the tanker-water suppliers and their source of the water. An investigation must be conducted in the former MLAs hold in the water-tank supply business in that area, Rodrigues further revealed.
