GULAB GANG To put it simply, BAKWAS!!! Too many downsides. No logical storyline or script. Horrible continuity. Too much of melodrama. Too many and unnecessary songs. A very unconvincing villain. And to bring a fitting end, an utter rubbish climax! The movie starts interestingly showing a gang of women led by Mrs Nene/Rajjo Devi, bringing electricity in their village in a typical vigilante style! Fine. Well enough. Then onwards its about their self styled fight about various issues. This much is predictable and by now everyone knows this. But who is this Rajjo Devi? Whats her agenda, why the gang, how come the gang members are ace in martial arts,what or who are they fighting against? Too many questions, very little answer. Its a typical bollywood good vs evil story with one small twist, both good and evils are women! Bollywood scriptwriters have always found it easy to bring in a corrupt politician and pin all the blame of social issues on them! Juhi here obliges to take that blame and with her typical goody goody smile is just too unconvincing. Its utterly vague in what strata of politics she is. Neither is it clear from where an election crops up,and why the social activist Rajjo Devi wants to turn into politician! And why would an election candidate, instead of campaigning before the election,would chose to come to city to beg for money for a school!!! Typical logic defining script-writing of what I thought was a bygone era. An era when we used to see whenever hero (here heroine) is being chased by a bunch of goons, they typically land up in a remote and out of city limits location,inspite of the chase being started in city proper! In DEDH ISHQIYA Mrs Nene looked kinda rusty,here she is more on home turf with all the song-dance and..... yes Akshay Kumar style action!!! All in all,theres nothing here that you havent already watched in a bollywood flick before. Totally up to you if you wanna watch this one.
