GUN VS PANGA. in any village setting,we all have mad people and we the community knows the violent and the calm and how we relate with them. In sagana we have one called maina, maina is violent to some and friendly to others. Am not a medic but I believe their is a difference between mentally sickness and psychology sickness.Ill pose the following questions and your answers will help us understand the situation better. -the late muchoki is a parent in the school,so he has had a personal interaction with the teachers. His mental problem up until now has not been proven by a doctor.we are only getting the information from the villagers. -has he in the pst ever acted in a similar way? If yes or no the community knows better. In many of such public events Ive participated,I can say without fear that for you to get near mhesh you must be among the local leaders or someone brave. The security personnels including the administration knows people well and if any mad man is around, theyre treated well.some if unruly are told to go home, the ruly ones are told to sit down and listen. Its a common thing we all do. What made the community not respond to this one? -am told that the man was in the school compound since morning, very clean waiting for the visitors. Was he holding a panga all that time,if he was hiding it within himself, why hadnt anyone seen it. If truly he was mad, why is it that nobody raised an alarm to others to disarm him.a thing we all do with such people within us. If I would see a mad man with a panga today,I definitely call the next man around and we disarm him. Since the whole entire community was there waiting for mp,why didnt they do that.? -way before mp come, was he standing alone if not who was he with? What was he saying? If its true he sometimes get mad, those with him didnt notice he had changed? -we all watch news and see how we politicians are received. This incident happened just after mp had arrived. Women singing, local leaders escorting mp t the classroom with pupils all over. The mood is all celebrations so no sign of discomfort,no demonstration,no protests. If the bodyguard could have been taken away by the celebrations and allowed the community to surround their mp ,today we could be mourning.
