GUN of the WEEK: I just did have time to get by the range - TopicsExpress

GUN of the WEEK: I just did have time to get by the range Friday, in the middle of the dorm move. This week I have two (2). 1st is the Kahr PM9. The Kahr PM series (Polymer Micro) is a series of double action only (DAO) hammerless, striker-fired, short recoil operated, semi-automatic pistols manufactured by Kahr Arms. The target market for the PM line is the civilian concealed carry market. PM series pistols are manufactured with stainless steel slides that ride on steel inserts within the polymer frames. The series is noted for being very no-nonsense and utilitarian in appearance, with black plastic grips and a brushed stainless or blackened Tungsten DLC (Diamond-Like Coating) stainless slides. The Kahr PM9 is a 6+1, chambered in 9x19 Parabellum. It comes standard with either a black frame and stainless slide, or fully matte black. A special model also features a manual safety and a loaded chamber indicator. Pros: Good trigger pull. Very smooth. Its small. It is still light weight even with a fully loaded magazine. Surprisingly mild recoil for a 9mm. Cons: No external safety (on this model). VERY little stainless on the rail inserts. The slide if difficult to pull back. Definitely not a smooth action. I dont like the sights. And theyre expensive. I had several failures to feed. I think it was a combination of the magazine and the feed ramp. All-in-all, personally, it is not for me. I would NOT buy a Kahr PM9.
