GYMFACE DIDYAKNOW: The primary reason we do negative weight training is that your muscles experience much greater tension during the lowering part of the lift (eccentric). You can also lower more weight with much better control than a lift. Doing negatives is one way you can expose your muscles to greater levels of tension than experienced during the raising part of the exercise.
