Gabe Garland-Rogers, Presidio School junior, is accepted into the University of Arizona Medical Research program June 2-July 25, 2014. The Medical Research program provides 11th grade Arizona high school students exposure to hands-on methods in basic and clinical medical science; mastery by in-depth multi-dimensional exploration of selected timely medical topics. He will improve skills to recognize and deal productively with research uncertainty, and the unknown as it relates to science which will require critically and creatively focusing on raising, listening to, analyzing, prioritizing, and answering questions from different points of view; communicating clearly in different media with various audiences; collaborating effectively with different people and other resources including the University of Arizona Medical Students, Staff, and Faculty. The Medical Research program provides students: • Full-time Basic and Clinical Research • Seminars and Clinics on Medical Research • Final Oral and Written Reports • Work with physicians & biomedical scientists on their research • Explore health careers at The University of Arizona College of Medicine. • $2,300 this summer for learning science Congratulations, Gabe!!
