Gabriel is perfect at the job of being Gods messenger. Notice how con-cisely and helpfully he explains to Daniel what hes up to: I am going to tell you what will happen later, he says in 8:19. And on his next visit he says, Daniel, I have now come to give you insight and understanding. As soon as you began to pray, an answer was given, which I have come to tell you. . . . (9:22-23) LIKEWISE he makes his mission plain to Zechariah: I stand in the presence of God, and I have been sent to speak to you and to tell you this good news (LUKE 1:19 He also knows how to be positive and encouraging, a great skill to have in communication He tells Daniel, You are highly esteemed (9:23). And listed to his encouragement for Mary: Greetings, you who are highly favored! The LORD is with you...Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. (Luke 1:28-30) Gabril is also quite a mover Daniel tells us, While I was still in prayer, Gabriel. . . came to me in swift flight about the time of the evening sacrifice (9:21)Michaels name means Who is LIKE GOD While Gabriel is more of an announcing and preaching angel, Michael is more involved in protecting and fighting, Even individual angels seem to have their special gifts and responsibilites just as members of the body of CHRIST DO.
