#Gaffer Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard has spoke about the first time he was on the receiving end of Sir Alex Fergusons famous hairdryer treatment in his new autobiography, The Keeper. The former Manchester United stopper has told the story of his debut under Fergie, where he went into the dressing room at half time after conceding a Thierry Henry free kick in the Community Shield. According to Howard, the Arsenal striker hit the free kick with such power and precision that it rendered the wall useless, but Fergie didnt see it that way. At halftime, Ferguson just about took my head off, recalls Howard. A three man wall!? he shouted, the muscles around his jaw so tight I could see them flex. Against Henry! You need four men on that wall! Youve got to think! - he jabbed both index fingers at his forehead. If you cannae handle the f*cking stage - his Scottish accent was coming through loud and clear - Ill send you right back to the MLS. His final words were soaked in derision. Youre not in America anymore, son. In the end, Howard left the Millenium Stadium the hero, after saving penalties from Giovanni van Bronckhorst and Robert Pires in a shoot out.
