The pension obligations made to retirees may be significantly higher than what was initially expected. With the current member contribution rate of 11%, the Philippine Social Security System’s actuarial life is projected to run until 2042. With proposals to increase by three times the minimum pension and challenges to investment returns, the funds and the Systems actuarial life could last only until 2017. The panelists will share information and insights on the current and emerging health and social models, and present their views on why pension reforms have to be acted on decisively, systematically and swiftly. Pension models and risk management practices from across Asia-Pacific and around the globe will also be covered. A Q&A session will cap the panel discussion.
