Gaining a window into my private life, including my personal - TopicsExpress

Gaining a window into my private life, including my personal thoughts and pictures of my family, is a privilege, not a given. My family is precious to me. Images of them arent meant to be seen by people who after months--and sometimes, yes, years-- have not taken the time to try to develop an online rapport with me. If I have no idea who you are by now, you dont get this privilege. Some people seem to use people on Facebook either to lurk and collect sensory data on other people out of some morbid curiosity, or to simply collect thumbnails of people on a list, like some people collect postage stamps. Color me skeptical, for instance, of people with 4,999 Facebook friends. Other people use fancy Facebook fingerwork to screw around with people who have been good to them. These days are over. If you can see recent pictures and videos of me and my family, then I actually have some sense of who you are and/or why we are Facebook friends. Everyone else can read my wall to collect information that you could have found out for yourself by surfing the Internet or reading a book. We all have our different ways of using Facebook, and this is mine.
