Galatians 1:18 “Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem - TopicsExpress

Galatians 1:18 “Then after three years I went up to Jerusalem to see Peter, and remained with him fifteen days.” A true Christ experience will deepen our love for other Christians. Showing mercy and grace while offering forgiveness and encouragement runs at the forefront of what this means. Love is not just a generic word. It requires action and sometimes that action is most difficult. It’s hard to show love, when we feel we’re victims of injustices. When that feeling of injustice comes from a brother or sister in Christ, it becomes more complicated if not more difficult. In my own experience I know well the feeling of hurt and disappointment. When these feelings arise, I am forced to look to the cross and know that Jesus experienced feelings of hurt/disappointment and could have been justified in feeling bitterness. Yet my LORD from the cross demonstrated forgiveness. Forgiveness the very reason He allowed Himself to be hung on that old rugged cross, full of shame and despised by the world. Prayer: Lord, create in me the ability to forgive as You have forgiven. Deliver me from my reasons to justify withdrawal and bitterness, so that I may Love as you Love. In Jesus Name. Amen
