Gali Darugiran, situated in Ward No. 15, just opposite to Tourist Reception Centre, Residency Road, Jammu, connects Residency Road to Kanak Mandi Chowk and Lakhdata Bazar Areas and allows the needed passage of two wheelers and pedestrians. But it was immensely shocking to see this busy lane in such a dilapidated condition that it had become almost impossible to pass through it. Taking strong note of it, a deputation of residents headed by Senior Congress Leader, Sh. Raman Suri, met Sh. Yogesh Sawhney, Ex. MLA Jammu- East, and apprised him of the condition of this lane and numerous problems faced due to it. Taking immediate action, Sh. Yogesh Sawhney brought the same under the knowledge of Mr. Nawang Rigzin Jora, Hon’ble Minister for Urban Development and Urban Local Bodies, Jammu and Kashmir & Sh. Kiran Wattal, Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation. On the instructions of Mr. Jora and Mr. Sawhney, an order was immediately passed by Mr. Wattal for repair and upgradation of the said lane. Today, on 14th September 2014, work of the said lane was started and inaugurated by a Senior and Prominent Resident of this lane, Sh. Romesh Suri, in the presence of a huge gathering of the residents as well as Mr. Sawhney, accompanied by Senior Congress Leaders Pt. Srikant Sharma, Tarun Kumar, Pawan Gupta and Block Presidents Congress- Pawan Dev Singh & Rajinder Kumar. Residents thanked Mr. Sawhney, Mr. Jora and Mr. Wattal for immediate action and support.
