Galite perskaityti kaip prasidėjo vieno mokytojo sporto pradžia. Artur Harutyunyan: I was 16 years old when I first got introduced to street workout through the internet. I saw an American nicknamed “Hannibal for King” do exercises on pull-up bars like I’ve never seen before. I was very weak at the time I saw that video, only able to do a few pull-ups. Even though I was far way from being as strong as “Hannibal”, I was very motivated and started to mimic the basic movements of calisthenics. After practicing for 2 years and getting to a respectable level of strength, I joined the army at 18 years old. When I joined the army, I was surprised to find out that 99% of the people in our unit smoked. If the people who were supposed to be the strongest and healthiest in our country smoked, I realized that our culture in general was in a perilous state. After seeing the state of health in the army, I decided to take matters into my own hands and become a role model for others to follow. After being discharged from my service, I began to look for people on the internet with the same mindset and goals – to change our culture by inspiring youth to work out and take care of their bodies. After finding some like minded people, we held our first group workout session on July 20th, 2012 – to which 14 people attended. We continued to meet regularly and through social networking sites began to gather more and more people into our calisthenics team. The sport became very infectious, and on October 19th, 2012 we held a “pull-up jam” in Hrazdan that attracted over 100 guys and girls. The great thing about the sport is that it is very accessible to beginners, and very cheap to no cost. We are at a point where we can affect hundreds if not thousands of youth through social media and live events. We want to make working out and being healthy the cool thing to do – to replace the façade that smoking and hanging around neighborhoods being inactive are what youth should do. On October 28th, 2012 we got our first official street workout park built by a “Kenguru Pro” – thanks to government and charitable organizations support. This park has become a center for growth for us, and we have begun to meet every Sunday to exchange movements, routines, and ideas. ________ Tikiuosi patiko ;) "Treniruotės Tau" komanda :)
