Game Design 101: Some people are less skilled at certain genres of video games than others. Such people may have played, completed, and enjoyed the first iteration of a game despite those deficiencies. Just because your game is popular enough to merit a sequel does not justify ramping the difficulty of the second game up so high from the very beginning that those less-skilled players want to put your game in a microwave. Or, if you want the short version: Borderlands 2 is a piece of unplayable crap.
