Game Show Host Geoff Edwards Dies For the second straight week, we have lost a TV game show host who was popular during the 1970s. The latest to pass away is Geoff Edwards — who used to preside over the shows, Jackpot! and Treasure Hunt. Edwards was cut from a slightly different bolt of cloth than the usual game show host of that time. He often ditched the suit and tie, often wore jeans — and had longer hair than more straight-laced hosts back in the day like Bill Cullen, Wink Martindale, Jim Lange and Bob Eubanks. His agent says Edwards died of complications of pneumonia in Santa Monica, California. He was 83. Funeral plans are pending.
