Game Winners - Breakout Awareness #1 Here is a situation I was in last week at leagues. I had the 2 solids left and my opponent was on the 8 ball. I decided from where my balls set there was a natural angle for a break out and at first glance it looks very simple just put a little draw and hit into them...one problem, as i show the line with my cue you can see the 8 ball is in a direct line with the pocket so coming from this angle there is a chance of scratching or knocking the 8 ball in and losing. As I show with my cue there is a better way at coming at these 2 balls with almost no chance of scratching and a much more controllable break out of the 2 balls. I put more low and some left so when it drew back to the rail it would trow the cue ball at the 2 balls. As you see this re-creation this is pretty close to exactly what happened and I won the game. The point here being you need to be aware of how you break balls out and look at all the dangers that could come with each possibility! In this case it paid off to take a slightly different approach!
