Game of Thrones Discussion Point of The Day! After last nights East Coast feed of GoT was finished, author Stephen King tweeted out his elation over a certain even that happened during the episoide. This caused an uproar from his followers that he had spoiled the episode. His response was that the book the show is based on has been out for 16 years, with said event, and therefore he didnt view it as a spoiler. I tend to agree with King on this point. The HBO show GoT sticks pretty close to the source material, unlike The Walking Dead, which uses the source material as a framework to expand on and tell stories that are not in the book. So, GoT fans, what is your opinion on what is or is not to be considered spoiler material? And in general, should a fan of any show avoid social media when new eps are aired to avoid spoilers or do fans have an unwritten etiquette agreement to not discuss new episodes for a period of time?
