Gaming Headset Review: Here is a brief review of two headsets. The Soundblaster Tactic3D Fury vs the Soundblaster Tactic3D Rage. The fury is a smaller set that sits on the ear rather than covers them. The bass is very good for a smaller set. Also very comfortable, has a cloth ear cover which helps prevent excess heat. The Rage is a much larger set that surrounds the ear with faux leather padding, and the addition of a metal brace for the head band. What I like about the fury is the soft, breathable but on-ear cups. They seemed very comfortable and plush. I think they will attract pet hair like crazy. What I like about the rage is the surrounding the ear faux leather that blocks external sounds remarkably well. Im assuming its due to the metal reinforced headband they seem a bit tight, but until you wear them a few hours, it seems more a positive than a negative. One negatives of the rage set is the cord is very microphonic. It is has a cloth weave insulation that makes it noisy if you happen to brush a zipper or have restless leg syndrome like me. So Im still trying to figure out which I like more. Ill lean toward the the rage because they are the tougher, larger (50mm driver vs 40mm driver) louder set. The MSRP for the sets are: Rage: $79.99 Fury: $59.99 If you shop around you will find both sets cheaper though.
