Gang Member / Narcotics Arrest Investigators and members from the Coachella Police Department’s Community Action Team with the assistance of the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Alternative Sentencing Program conducted a probation compliance check in the 49000 block of Narcisco Lane, Coachella. During the check, approximately nine ounces of suspected methamphetamine and an unregistered handgun were located. Documented Indio gang member, Rafael Gerardo, age 31 of Indio, was subsequently arrested for possession of methamphetamine for sales with a firearm, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of an unregistered firearm, and four felony counts of violating the terms of his probation. At the Sheriff’s Thermal Station, detectives recovered an additional two ounces of suspected methamphetamine concealed on Gerardo’s person. Gerardo was booked into the Riverside County jail in Indio for the previously listed offenses.
