Gardening with a border collie, just dont do it. Ever. Checklist - TopicsExpress

Gardening with a border collie, just dont do it. Ever. Checklist of reasons... - herding instincts meaning every step you make across your garden must be incorporated into a border collie avoiding dance - vendetta against sweeping brushes - vendetta against spades - and the smaller spades - and hose pipes -.....and gardening bags - chewing instincts, resulting in every thing you pull out from the ground and place in a bag...then being removed from the bag and chewed into multiple pieces and placed around the garden across the grass that you have recently picked the last random chewed pieces from. This is repeated with every weed, stick, or leaf placed in the bags. Curiosity - every move you make towards a nicer garden you must do it with a border collies face 3 inches from your face, with a big what are we doing what are we doing what are we doing smile on their face. The intelligence to help - often digging is needed in gardening, but in the instance that its not, and that instead you are washing the white patio doors, digging and then coming to check the newly washed patio doors isnt really that helpful The playful traits - as intelligent as they are, its not easy to explain to a border collie that you are unable to throw a spade for them, or a watering can. So to sum up. Dont bother :-)
