Garland County Sheriffs Department Investigators have obtained Capital Murder and Aggravated Residential Burglary arrest warrants for 30 year old Steven Swanigan, in the shooting that occurred on April 30th in Garland County resulting in the death of 26 year old Mayela Mata. Swanigan is described as a black male, approximately 6’2” tall and weighing 180 pounds. Sheriff’s Investigator’s developed information at approximately 11:00pm last night that Swanigan was in a Conway motel. An exact location was determined and Officer’s with the Conway Police Department were instrumental in assisting and securing the location. Swanigan was last seen at approximately 5:45am this morning at the Economy Inn on E. Oak Street in Conway, where he fled from Officer’s wearing a dark hoodie and black pants. The Garland County Sheriff’s Office is offering a $1,000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Swanigan. Swanigan is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached.
