Gary Oldman in Talks for Star Wars: Episode VII? Since its announcement back in 2012, weve heard a lot of casting rumors for the upcoming Star Wars: Episode VII. From Breaking Bad star Jesse Plemons to Benedict Cumberbatch, weve heard almost every name in the book, but very few of these rumors have come from the actors themselves. In a recent interview with Sky Movies, veteran actor Gary Oldman was asked if he had any interest in joining the new film, given hes been in so many blockbuster franchises throughout his career. Theyve called, yeah, Oldman replied, hesitating on a follow-up. Im more cynical about it (casting) now, I believe it when Im on the plane home. You know, the deal isnt done (until then). Abrams and Lawrence Kasdan, Star Wars: Episode VII is rumored to focus on a new generation of heroes and could include appearances by Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford in older incarnations of their beloved characters from the original Star Wars trilogy. The film is expected to begin shortly and will hit theaters on December 18, 2015.
