Gary and April Long stayed with us recently at Singita Boulders Lodge and we just love the memories they have shared with us. Gary says, Our suite, number 10, the last one on one end of the property, seemed to be a magnet for various species of game. The all-glass back of our suite and the deck and pool faced the Sand River, so we saw lots of game there, and well as in our back yard. In one highly memorable two hour period, we were treated to a menagerie of wild animals, some a little closer to our suite than we anticipated. From our deck and sometimes just inside the suite for safety purposes, we saw a pride of lions, a herd of elephants, rhinos, a herd of water buffalo, a herd of impala and a fast moving troop of baboons. The lions came quietly. As April was enjoying the tranquillity on the deck, and observing antelopes grazing, a pride killed a young impala about 20 or 25 meters away from the deck, to the side of our suite.
