Gary mains may remember this; when we worked for rmp marine - TopicsExpress

Gary mains may remember this; when we worked for rmp marine service in long beach, california, we got a contract to remove a sunken barge in ensenada mexico. We sub contracted the blasting to j.s. browers, inc. I met the smith brothers on that job ; Doug and Ron. Sadly, Ron lost his life in a blasting accident several years after. J.s. brow Er and company went on to become broco. They devoloped the ultrathermic burning rods that are now the industry standard. Gary is the big honcho at broco, but I met him when he was a lowly diver at rmp. When the oil tanker, USS sanseninna exploded in los Angeles harbor, the broco boys brought some rods to Fred devine diving and salvage, but we couldnt use them because of the large amount of spilled oil. The old arc air rods had to be used because we were getting some pretty bad ignitions and explosions underwater from the oxygen /oil interactions.
