Gas Board Approves Purchase of Software Updates Paris, Tenn.- The board approved spending $10K to the company Geo-Jobe and upgrading the GIS mapping system. The upgrade will include installing the software on the computers in the front office at the Paris Henry County Public Utility District. This will allow the ladies up front to answer questions customers may have on location of gas lines, because they will be able to use the software to locate the lines immediately. In other business the gas board approved payments of $46K to Dale Murphy Construction for the main line extension project. Eaton said they are finishing up on highway 218 and should finish up sometime next week, which will complete the main line extension project. Eaton also told board members that financials for the district continue to be in the red, by the amount of around $100K for the month of November and over $700K for the year. Eaton reassured the board this was normal compared to previous years and the difference would be made up over the winter and they should be fine come the end of the fiscal year next June. More from last week’s gas board meeting the board approved a couple of change orders at the meeting. One was to add over 1400 Linear Feet of gas lines off the main line extension onto Whitehead Road. Eaton said this will be an additional $6360 and will be added to the main line project. He said they will pick up two houses and a shop from these additional linear feet of gas piping. The other change order reduced 27 Linear Feet of pipe for the Highway 218 gas relocation project which reduced the bill by just over $1450. Eaton said the city and county would be reimbursing the district for these costs.
