Gathering and preparing Milkweed seeds. Seeds are taken from the pods. Then I put them in a bag with pebbles and shake for about a minute. This breaks a membrane on the seed making it more likely to germinate. Notice the different colored seeds. First pic are seeds from the park. 2nd is from airport property. The last are mine from my backyard. The seeds also have to go through a cold period. Ill put them in the refrigerator( not the freezer ) for a month. This mimics going through winter.
