Gave my dogs each a meaty bone yesterday as a special treat. Amy - TopicsExpress

Gave my dogs each a meaty bone yesterday as a special treat. Amy immediately grabbed hers and headed for the couch. Katie, eyes nearly popping out of her head, ran up the stairs hoping to eat it on my bed. The bones kept them quiet all afternoon. There was lots of snarling at each other during the evening as they both wanted to sit with me on the couch and Amys bones was there, which Katie now had possession. 4:00am I awoke to the most terrible smell. Whew these dogs sure can fart after eating bones, I turned over and tried to find a fresh pocket of air to stick my nose in. No such luck, the air was just foul every where. I did wonder if I had a real bad case of morning breath, surely I could not stink that bad. Eventually deciding that I could not sleep for another 3 hours with that stench, turned the light on. Sure enough Amy had done a large sausage on the floor at the foot of my bed. Nothing for it but to get up and clean it up, also taking Amy downstairs to let her out. I am now standing sleeping against the sliding door while Amy does her business outside. God she can take a long time and, all I wanted was to get back to bed and back to sleep. Finally make it back to bed to find Katie had taken my warm spot and was not intending to move. I left my bedroom door open and open a window to try and blow the stale air out of the room. Amy was still restless so I hoped that by leaving the door open, if she had another accident it would not be in my room and I could finally get some sleep. At 7:00am I heard Dad getting up, shouted to him to watch where we walked as if there was anything on the floor as sure as eggs are eggs he will walk in it, always has and always will. Giving dogs a treat sometimes just does not work.
