Gday Everyone, Ive just entered my Dad in the Repco Dad of the Year Comp and could do with your help.... My Dad is the Dad Of The Year and will be till the day he dies! In 2012 I came down with a rare neurological condition that hit me out of the blue. I was triathlon fit and going from 65kg to 50kg, it was a huge shock and it got to a point where we thought I was going die. The worst part about my condition is I suffer from a full body spam which is life threatening, we have recorded my blood pressure at 208 on 190 and my temperature at 41.5 degrees, which is well past stroke material. My parents are both ex-nurses and between them they have 20 years of working as nurses, they had never seen or heard anything like this. My parents became carers as I couldnt do anything for myself. After seeing every specialist and conducting every test we could think of, we were getting no where. My Dad said one day hes starting to look like a prisoner of war. My Dad had to give up his job to be their for me regardless of the huge home lone. It hasnt been easy but my Dad has been there the hole time to make sure he could do what was needed to be done. He has only recently got a job so he can keep a roof over our heads otherwise we would be out on the street. Starlight granted me a wish, we spent the weekend at Eastern Creek and I was suppose to get a hot lap but I couldnt so I got it for Dad as he bloody deserved it! He said Ben this is your day not mine, he is also going to push me to the Bathurst 1000 for charity, 270km from where we live. He is a bloody legend and I Love my parents dearly.
