Ge e ka se rage e tla tlatxa kgamelo..........We told them aker.... Ramakatsas letter to them ... Thursday, 15 January 2015 Attention: CIC Julius Malema :National Secretary Godrich Gardee CC: Provincial Secretaries and Coordinators Dear CIC and Commissars EFF NATIONAL ASSEMBLY CHALLENGES The matter above bears reference Let me open this letter by wishing you, EFF leadership at all levels and the organisation as a whole a healthy and prosperous new year. It is a common knowledge that I was a National Coordinator of this organisation until the so called National People’s Assembly held in December 2014 at Mangaung I have the following concerns to raise around the National People’s Assembly. It is not in your best interests, my interests and interests of the movement if these concerns are not raised and dealt with in a transparent manner. 1. Changing of Branch delegates to the National Assembly There are numerous complaints emanating from members and branches of the organisation which can’t go unnoticed and dealt with as they negatively affect the democratic nature of the movement. 2. Illegally and unjustifiably altering the Branch Audit reports. 3. Undermining of the organisational constitution and members rights and duties 4. Interference with my duties as a National Coordinator 5. My duties were strategically interfered with to suit a certain agenda. The draft program of the NPA which was developed by Commissar Floyd Shivambu excluded me as a National Coordinator 6. National Assembly did not meet the requirement of the Assemblies Guidelines, in particular as it relates to credentials of delegates and meeting a quorum as required. 7. Preparation of the Credentials and presentation thereof was taken away from my office which I continuously raised with your office. 8. Verification and adoption of the Credentials by the CCT was not done. 9. There were multiple contraventions of the Assemblies Guidelines including developing the officials slate and forcing it upon Provincial Chairpersons and Secretaries by yourself (CIC) and Commissar Floyd Shivambu to be imposed on delegates. 10. Furthermore, the guidelines and constitution of the party was contravened by yourself (CIC) and Commissar Floyd Shivambu by developing and forcing name list of additional members of the CCT. This is explicitly prohibited by the guidelines. 11. Use of money to buy the delegates’ loyalty and thereby abandoning branch mandates and revolutionary principles. 12. Undue and illegal interference with the appointed independent electoral commission and thereby compromising the expected impartiality of the electoral process. 13. Unduly influencing the outcomes of the elections by undermining the provisions of the constitution and guidelines specifically relating to the requirement for such elections to be conducted through a secret ballot. 14. Nature and management of the Assembly 1. The chairing of the NPA by the CIC did not allow for an environment for open debate and discussions. 2. The political report of the CIC was punctuated with threats and intimidation calculated to instil fear for retribution. 3. The CIC arbitrarily imposed decisions on the NPA without seeking its approval including on opening the close session to the media. 4. Political parties are public entities and their financial reports are matters of entitlement and great interest to its members and the public. However, no such financial report was given to the NPA. I therefore ask to be given an audited financial report and for the same to be accorded to the generality of the EFF membership. I remain a loyal and disciplined member of the EFF. I have no intention whatsoever of leaving this glorious people’s movement that I have put my life on hold for and so tirelessly worked hard to build. I hereby give you (CIC) and the leadership core of EFF seven days to respond to this letter fully addressing the concerns that I have raised in this letter as well as stipulating by when they will be corrected. In the event that the concerns that I have raised are not dealt with effectively and timeously, I shall be constrained to seek recourse elsewhere. I thank you in advance. Kind Regards, Mpho Ramakatsa (EFF MEMBER) Email – ramakatsa@gmail Cell no - 0795020422
