Gee how times have changed so much for the worse. I remember going for a job at The Austin Hospital when I was 19 years old, the Interview consisted of,Interviewer what kind of work are you looking for? Me what kind of work have you got? Interviewer would you like to become an Orderly? me what sort of work is that? Interviewer, It involves pushing patients on trolleys and wheelchairs to various parts of the hospital, the removal from the wards of deceased patients, movement of records. x-rays and other items Interviewer when can you start? me next Monday, Interviewer ok see you then. There was no request to see a Resume, no background check, no nothing, just start Monday, and at that point in time you could go for as many Interviews as took your fancy. These days, they first of all want your resume, (no more than two pages mind, a lifes history in two pages) you are one of many hundreds going for the job, the Interview can consist of an aptitude test that would put the best of us off, and then the ridiculous request of 40 Interviews a month now reduced to 20, for positions that are just not there. Top that off with the threat of you will be cut off unemployment for 6 months and it all becomes a nightmare. I would hate to be starting over now, its bad enough paying in excess of $100,000 for Uni fees only to come out qualified with a Mortgage and no job Guaranteed \.
