Geek alert: This was my favorite part of 11/22/63 by Stephen King -- the part after the main character saves JFK and moves forward back to present day in an alternate reality and how history would have been different. I often thing about that too: if Kennedy lived, how would history have been different? I believe some of Kings stuff was preposterous, but interesting at the same time. For example, JFK falters after reelection because racial tensions blow up, leading the way to George Wallace. Hubert Humphrey wins in 72, followed by Reagan in 76. The best one of all was when Bill Clinton is nominated for president in 2004, but dies of a heart attack on stage and his widow, Hillary, is nominated and wins and then wins reelection. While some of this sounds nuts, it is interesting to think about what might have been. Luckily, Bill was nominated before 2004 and didnt die of a heart attack.
