Geelani Sahab hails Kashmir University students for expressing dissentChairman Hurriyat Conference SyedAli Shah Geelani on Monday applauded the role played by intellectuals and students in the on going resistance movement in Jammu and Kashmir.He said: our young intellectuals are very sensitive for their political futureand are not confused about the resistance movement.“Our young intellectuals have conveyed in a dignified and peaceful manner to chief justice of Indiaand other participants that India has no legal or moral right to occupy the state of Jammu&Kashmir,” Geelani said.Hailing students of Kashmir University for their"mature thinking and heroic stand", Geelani said"they have conveyed to India that it has no right to rule over Jammu and Kashmir".“As students and faculty members of Kashmir University’s Law department did not stand up when the Indian national anthem was played, I am happy and satisfied that students have conveyed to them that they can neither conquerour hearts nor suppress our passionfor our birth right.”The Hurriyat Chairman criticizing the role of some officers said that"students are not being allowed to join or launch the party of their choice, while as on other hand the pro-Indian parties are being provided support and assistance in all their political activities”.Gee lani said the administration since long has been trying to make Kashmir University a politicalarena, and “instead of concentrating over the educational activities their activities are focused to politicize this institution and promote cultural activities”.He said that since Rahul Gandhi visited the university, a membership drive has been launched for Congress and other pro-Indian parties.“But I express my satisfaction that agood majority of students has disassociated from this type of politics.”While lauding the role played by educated youth, Syed Ali Geelani said that credit goes to our educated youth. “It is their commitment and practical participation we can say with authority that despite suppressive and repressive measures, the youthwith their dedication will continue to support present resistance movement.”..........
