Geelani demands arrest of killers of Kashmir youth All Parties Hurriyat Conference (G) chief Syed Ali Geelani Monday demanded immediate arrest of the killers of the youth, who was reportedly found dead in mysterious conditions in Mumbai in July last year. The slain family have accused Jammu and Kashmir police for doing nothing in the case. Geelani stated: “State administrations careless attitude about the murder received that no help be provided to the bereaved family.” Parvaiz Ahmad Teli, a salesman at a Kashmir trader’s handicrafts shop in Bangalore, was travelling via Mumbai for work after two months of leave. He hailed from Old City’s Nawab Bazar. On July 6, on his way to Goa, Teli, accompanied by cousin Wahid, reached a bus stand in Mumbai. He went to a shop to buy cigarettes but did not return to the bus. As he remained untraceable for two days, Teli’s brother Firdous arrived in Mumbai on July 8 and filed a complaint with the police. He later allegedly that the Mumbai police did not make any serious effort to trace the missing youth. “In 2013 many dead bodies of youth were sent to Kashmir who were either studying or doing business in Indian mainland and Parvaiz was among those unlucky people who were killed for the crime of being a Kashmiri,” Geelani said. The octogenarian leader added that India is ‘land of death’ for the Kashmir people and every corner of this country is unsafe for Kashmir residents. Kashmir people are everywhere looked with doubtful eyes and they are abused and insulted repeatedly, he added. Though, CM Omar Abdullah, many a times assured that now Kashmir people will not be harassed anywhere in India but this case is the litmus test for such remarks, Geelani said.
