Geelani launches his party’s women wing: Senior resistance leader Syed Ali Geelani Sunday announced the formation of the women wing of his party Tehreek-e-Hurriyat in Jammu and Kashmir. The octogenarian leader said TeH being a statewide party has decided to organize and utilize the services of women within their specified field for Islam, unification and freedom movement. He said: women have given their best services during ongoing movement. During his interaction with a group of women workers, at his Hyderpora home, Geelani said his organization stand for overall reformation of society. “We want to provide our services in every aspect of life, however Islam has specified the separate sphere for both and consider free gender mixing a root cause of all evils. We have decided that women’s wing will work within a specified jurisdiction, the 84-year-old leader, who has severed as the chief of Jammat-e-Islami, said.
