Geelani placed under house arrest again Srinagar, Nov 16: Authorities on Saturday placed the chairman of Hurriyat Conference (G) Syed Ali Shah Geelani under house arrest again. The spokesman of Hurriyat (G) Ayaz Akbar told Greater Kashmir that a huge posse of police cordoned off Geelanis Hyderpora residence this afternoon and informed him he cannot move out. Pertinently, Geelani was released on October 29 this year, after 235 days of his house arrest. Geelani was scheduled to address a public gathering in north Kashmir’s Palhallan village on Sunday (Nov 17). Akbar said that Palhallan rally has been deferred due to the restrictions imposed on Geelani.
