Gen. 3:15 is a great promise—from the very beginning, after Adam - TopicsExpress

Gen. 3:15 is a great promise—from the very beginning, after Adam and Eve sinned in the garden, the Lord is going to make a plan of rescue & of salvation. He says, “I, God, will put hostility, enmity between you, the serpent, and the woman.” The serpent, vs. the woman—but then—surprise, He says, between the serpent’s offspring & the woman’s offspring. Then that offspring is narrowed down, & there is a male descendant. Very clearly in the Hebrew text it says the serpent will strike His heel,” but that male descendant, He will crush the head of the serpent. This is called the protoevangelium—the first announcement of the good news of the gospel—that this Messiah is going to win! (Dr. Walter Kaiser)
