Gen Sejusa Meets Sheikhs in Wakiso Pat Robert Larubi Sejusa meeting Sheikhs in Wakiso last week A group of Muslims in Wakiso have blessed the controversial army General and chairman Free Uganda, David Sejusa, saying he should continue his fight for “justice and good governance.” Sejusa, who recently returned from exile in London, has since sought retirement from the arm apparently to allow him contest for presidency. Recent talks with president Museveni at State House Entebbe saw Sejusa take a low profile after two years of attacking the head of state in the media. Free Uganda described Sejusa as “a man of the People,” adding, “His passion is to engage with all sections of Ugandan society, and in the process listen to what they have to say about the state of affairs in Uganda today, and what needs to be done to bring about the desired change.” Sejusa fled the country after making eyebrow-raising allegations that those opposed to the ‘Muhoozi Project’ are being targeted for assassination, a charge government dismissed as “groundless” and alarmist.” Free Uganda said “many Ugandan citizens are coming to wish the FU Chairman, and Free Uganda, as an organisation well, as we embark on the journey for changing our Motherland Uganda into a better place for all its citizens to live in.” Last week, Sejusa had a Duwa prayer session with a group of Muslim Sheiks in Wakiso district. The clerics prayed for the General and “encouraged him to continue with the struggle for good governance in the country.” They assured him that God will always protect those who fight for truth and justice. The Muslim Sheikhs also reminded the Free Uganda Chairman that there is “no gain without pain.” It remains unclear if General Sejusa will be charged with desertion and treason as the army had earlier vowed.
