Gender project staff held separate meetings and consultation meeting forum with elders, intellectuals, youth members, religious leaders, line ministries and police officers, civil society organizations at Allore Hotel in Buroa, Togdheer region. The main objective and agendas of these meetings where to analysis the root causes of the increasing gang’s youth activities that hit the breaks in the region and to discover proper approaches that can be controlled and mitigated these youth gangs’ activities. During these meetings the participants mentioned and listed key factors that lead the youth to be involved in violence’s and abuses activities in the region which results destruction of many properties and violated many innocent people rights (physically injured, theft, raped or harassed). Therefore, it was agreed this issue is a serious one and need to take actions and collaborate key factors involved in the region their efforts to mitigate this bad actions and rehabilitate involved youths and prevent this actions to spread among the youth in the region which will be a disaster. Villages committees promised in their side that they will arrange sub-meetings in their villages to increase the awareness of elders and community members in the villages about the issue and set together actions that will reduce this problem effects.Moreover, it also recommended religious leaders to preach the community at Fridays prays in this issue regularly and inform the community about bad affects of youth gang’s actions and roles need parents to take to overlook their children’s behaviors and disciplinary them. Furthermore, Government institutions in the region mention that they will take their role and collaborating ongoing activities to control this new bad actions youth in the region recently developed.
