Gene -- Thank you for joining me in the fight against Governor Corbetts attack on working families in Pennsylvania. Ive always believed that a vibrant, healthy community requires good-paying jobs and a thriving, secure middle class. And in my view, the foundation for rebuilding Pennsylvanias middle class is laid by making working men and women the keystone of any initiative to turn our Commonwealth around. Unfortunately, that is the exact opposite of what Corbett has done to our state. Instead of looking to Pennsylvanias workers for solutions, Corbett seems to look at working people as the problem. Throughout my life, Ive found if you listen to workers and treat them right with living wages, good benefits, and safe working conditions -- we all benefit. And when workers are given an incentive to take ownership over a process, they come forward with creative solutions to complex problems. Thats why, when I was Secretary of Revenue, I personally visited with more than 2,000 employees in offices across the state to listen to their stories and to learn from their experiences to improve the Department for both workers and the taxpayers of our Commonwealth. Thats why my company shares 20-30% of its profits with the workers who help make the business successful. And thats why Im running for governor. Its not going to be easy to defeat Governor Corbett and the Koch brothers, but if folks like you keep coming together and adding your voice, well win this campaign.
