General Manager and Deputy General Manager TGS suspended for negligence on ATR aircraft damage at Benazir Bhutto International Airport, Islamabad, which was happened yesterday when the Ground Power Unit (GPU) vehicle hit the aircraft damaging their doors and rear portion of fuselage. An immediate inquiry into the incident was initiated against the TGS officials on duty as to why the GPU was left unnoticed causing damage to the aircraft. The airline management suspended the General Manager and Deputy General Manager TGS for negligence as both were responsible for Technical Ground Support services. Airport entry pass for vehicle driver was also revoked. PIA had to cancel two flights for Skardu while one for Gilgit due to the accident. PIA Engineering immediately conducted repairs and the aircraft were fit for flight by Friday afternoon.
