General Raheel Sharif today visited Corps HQ Karachi. He was given detailed briefing on operational, training and administrative matters of the Karachi Corps . He was also briefed about overall law and order and security situation in Karachi. Earlier on arrival at Karachi, COAS was received by Lieutenant General Sajjad Ghani, Corps Commander Karachi. Later, COAS visited Headquarters Airports Security Force (ASF). Speaking to the troops of ASF, COAS commended their professionalism, commitment and acknowledged their valor in averting a terrorists attack at Karachi airport in May this year. COAS met the families of ASF shuhada and apreciated their sacrifices. COAS emphasized the need for more harmony and coordination among all security forces and intelligence agencies for an integrated response towards defeating terrorists threat. He also pledged Armys fullest support in enhancing ASFs capacity, and anti terrorists training of the troops, as being provided to Police forces across the country.
