General rules for booking a band...in my opinion. If your budget is less than a 4 digits (1000), forget contacting anyone you have heard of, even locally. If they play more than one town and have at least 4 members, forget it. You are looking for a local duo or DJ. Cool?... If your budget is less than 3000, forget about anybody youve ever heard on the radio. And for 3-4 K they better already be in the area. If they have to travel to do your gig, think 5K and up. Itll save you a lot of wasted e-mails or phone calls.... Below those numbers, you have to think acoustic or duo. A full band show isnt cheap for the buyer, or the artist....you do, even with music, get what you pay for. ie..you cant walk into a law office that charges 110 per hour, offer them 20 per hour, and then be insulted when they say no thanks..that wouldnt make sense now, would it?....sigh... (Okay, so I might have received a few laughable, unrealistic offers lately...lol. Luckily theres a few legit ones here and there to level that out...)
