Generalised it: This one is for all dim wits, half baked, pseudo-secular intellectuals who post articles without even analyzing the facts behind it. If you will understand and if you will still deny the reality, I have only burnol to offer. No, really. I am not kidding, you need that. Please comment, if you really understand and if you have better data to suggest. Dont copy, paste blind from some source without checking its authenticity. Disclaimer: All figures are real. No photoshopping, spoofing was required. So here it goes, going to be a long on but what to do, Shahid Bhagat Singh once famously said (I saw it in a movie :P) Behro (deaf) ke liye dhamakon ka zaroorat hoti hain...People out here are not only deaf but they are blind too. The story that is running around and not ceasing to stop in spite of many trying to explain is that The BJP has 31% of vote share, hence 69% rejected it, so majority Indians dont want them etc etc etc... You see, there are lies, then there are lies and then there is statistics. Learned people (are you?) like you them should have remembered this before trying to show to the world how 69% of Indians have rejected, the Narendra Modi and the BJP. For the information, aftermath of Mrs Gandhi assassination, Congress got 50.70% votes, total number of parties 25, strong local parties like AIDMK, DMK, TMC, BJD, TDP were no where in picture. Aftermath of Mr Rajeev Gandhi assassination, Congress got 35.66% (way ahead of 31% but no body said a word) votes, total number of parties 29. 2004 elections, UPA got 35.4% (WOW!!! and NDA got 38.4%, new mathematics says 38 lesser than 35) votes, number of parties 27. No wonder good companies are throwing out people who have IQs of dinosaurs. 2014 elections BJP gets 31.8% vote share and NDA gets 38.4%, number parties 37. Hmmm... Say for example, there are 10 voters and 5 parties, naturally you will have the guy who has got 4 votes to be the majority. But thats for people to understand who really want to understand. For people who have seen it all, its Congress who gave rise to strong local parties due to continuous ignorance of state matters. For example we all know why and how TMC was formed in West Bengal, dont we? Anyway thats beside the question. Coming back to point, if we compare between 2004 and 2014, its clear that the support for NDA has increased by 3% whereas the number of parties have increased by 10 which includes strong regional parties like TMC, AIDMK, YSR, BJD, TDP, RJD etc. Worth mentioning once again, Congress had 28.6% vote share in 2009 and 26.53% in 2004, I never saw anyone jumping around but today with 31% BJP draws a flak, just coz we presume that things may happen. Hypocrisy, isnt it? Well thats in the blood. It quite natural that whenever and wherever the election has been 2-3 party system, parties have had significant vote share. Example: BJP has got vote shares beyond 50% in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh etc. In that case wouldnt it be prudent to assume that an overwhelming majority wanted BJP as its choice. Now we are talking. Would love comments on this. But please no gibberish bull shit like how Modi marketed and etc. There was no ban on marketing on others. BJP vote share dropped where there are 5 parties in the system say UP. In UP, its BJP, INC, SP, BSP, RLD and few other small parties like AAP, AD, JDU etc. Even here the vote share of BJP is 42.3%. Isnt that a massive mandate? Again, dont give me polarisation crap. If SP, BSP hasnt polarised and instilled fear, many Muslims would have gone and voted for BJP, the percentage would have gone up. In case of states like Kerala, TN or Andhra Pradesh where BJP never had a presence, and you have very strong regional parties except Kerala, the vote share plunged down to 5.5% in TN and 10.3% in Kerala. However, in Kerala, the vote share actually increased. Doesnt that signify that people were looking for a change? Unlike you armchair warriors and economists, who in some cases havent even voted. We talk about 31%. However, I dont see pundits mentioning how BJPs vote shares increased in J&K or West Bengal or Assam or even North East. Always talk figures: In Assam BJP vote share has increased from 17.21% to 36.5% and in J&K, the vote shares of BJP increased from 18.61% to 32.4%. Doesnt that mean more and more people did ask for a change. Of course it doesnt for you, because you educated people, cannot fathom the fact that beyond your AC chambers, there is an India who wants change and development and they dont give a rats a*** to your communal-secular mindless theories. Then come the allies which people of course are not taking into picture. When a person is voting for Shiv Shena or TDP, he is actually voting for NDA. And NDA vote share is 38.5%. So number comes down to 61.5%, isnt it ? Hell, yeah!!! I would assume that the overall mean of the country doesnt signify a lot till you get down to the details. And as they say, devil is in the details. Disclaimer: Repeating, all figures are true and cannot be challenged so dont even try googling, its a fruitless effort.
