Generally, I like the guy. Im not a massive fan of his band, but boy, does he know how to pay respest to his influences. I enjoy Sonic Highways more because its not about Foo Fighters, its about the city and the music each song is created in. LA (thanks to the stuff about Rancho de la Luna, Kyuss and the desert rock scene), New Orleans (Dr John, The Meters and Allen Toussaint in particular) and Austin have been particular highlights.
