Generally in the Philippines, if you are an engineer, say a supervisor working in a construction outfit, you may having your own house but most probably in a low cost housing project. Yet you may be building the most awesome high rise edifice of the country. If you were an ordinary construction worker, nobody would have to noticed you even if you helped build a city or the most impressive multinational manufacturing plant in the economic zone. If somebody is looking for you, you may end up living in the squatters colony. If you are a construction worker, your salarys bracketed in the minimum wage, and consider yourself lucky if you got one. You are not even sure if your employer is faithfully paying your SSS premiums and the like. Construction workers come and go. They are just incidental fixturescommon in the construction industry.
