Generally speaking, I hate when record labels make music icons cut duet albums with lightweight modern pop singers. Its demeaning to the older artists, who should be spending their time extending their legacies with fresh material, not rehashing songs they did much better on their own 30 years before. (Did Sinatras version of Ive Got You Under My Skin, one of the few perfect recordings ever made, really need the addition of Bono?) But Lady Gaga is one of those rarities of the modern pop charts who just might have the chops to be worthy of sharing a mic with Tony Bennett. I might have to give this album a listen. And of course, if Tony Bennett ever wants to cut a duet with me, Ill be there yesterday. youtu.be/Fg1meK-IgOM
