Generally, when I speak on worship, it does cause great divide because many people are not resolved that the Bible is the final authority on the matter. We have been guilty of allowing worship to trend with culture, preference and ethnic style and as a result its deviated from its original purposes and powers. its important that you understand something else at this point. Worship did not begin on earth! Worship was going on as a routine, regimen and culture in heaven way before earth and the human race came to be. Therefore, since worship predates earth, it was a long standing and very well established INSTITUTION before it got here. It was placed on earth by priests and men that walked with God. This is important to know because people think that its okay to approach worship in my own way or in their own style and thats completely heretical. To think that you can customize your approach to worship based upon your personality or comfort level bastardizes its use and origin. Worship is NOT the property of human beings, therefore human beings dont get to determine how its done! We have reinvented worship and made it something that we could live with, because it was too intense as done in heaven. Keeping in mind, worship was established as an ordinance and institution before earth, and as such came with its own laws, codes, levels, standards, practices, definitions and functions. Those did not change, once earth decided to partner with worship. So, NO, you DONT get to worship in your own way, because you are not the founder of worship and dont have proprietary rights to edit its requirements and style to your own liking. There is a WAY to do worship and its revealed all throughout the old and new testaments. Worship is NOT worship until its done the Bible way.
