Generation Lost I am lost in the city, London city does it not - TopicsExpress

Generation Lost I am lost in the city, London city does it not look mighty pretty from the outside, the cover of its book enticing, a lifestyle all but too inviting. The celebrity facade has you believing that everyday life was not meant to be this hard, you can get your life picture perfect with a few credit cards and as you disregard the fine print for momentary treasure, a taste of this high life, this pleasure will have you owing your life to the system forever. A slave to society, free world? We are more enslaved now than our ancestors in the old world. Now lets get down to the heart of the matter or should I say the big black hole where once upon a time there was a soul. We live in a time where everyones scared to say hello to someone just like us, instead we rush to look the other way no one has time to give no one the time of day, but we stay observers on the sidelines when that someone just like us is being robbed or kicked down in the street on the side walk we will glady stand there and talk witnessing these crimes safe in the confines of our own space. Humanity lost yet we call ourselves the human race, now let me talk about race. How can we be proud and feel no disgrace when we still live in a society that belittles and condemns those because of the colour of their face? Go back to where you came from is the most common phrase I hear, yet you will be strained to look around and show me who and what is British here. We walk around in this city with a sense of fear, we are selfish to our own demise, and would rather close our eyes and hearts to those who need a little helping start can you spare some change please? his eye level reaching no higher than your knees, hes sitting so low to the ground that you deem it appropriate to walk past disacknowledge his existence and make no sound. Where is this society bound? Il tell you something it looks like we are destined to be 6 feet under ground. Respect is lost, all boundries are crossed, lifes just tossed aside as the young think its nothing to draw a knife against one another and to take a life. What happened to raising up your sisters and brothers carrying the life lessons taught by our mothers, where is the respect for our elders, who raised us strong when we were young and helpless, instead when they are old and weak we toss them into oldage shelters. Instead the government raises their age for pensions so that they die out before they get whats theirs, the conventions of society shows no cares for the people its seeds, it operates on a system of greed not need and we are the ones that bleed as they feed off of us to grow their money trees. Trust me when I say we are a generation lost, expendable to ourselves, a marginal cost to those in power we place greater value on our wealth than what is more precious and that is the value of the self. eman•K
