Genesis 5:1-32. All humans (both male and female) were made in the image of God. Little wonder the Psalmist declared, I am fearfully and wonderfully made. The implication is that, we do not really need to alter, modify and make-up our appearances- whether through face lifting surgery, bleaching creams and unnecessary additions. Again, the end of our life story depends on how much we maintain a close fellowship and communion with God. Enoch did not have to die like the others because God so much enjoyed their fellowship that He took him alive. It does not matter what has been befalling others in our generation/lineage. Close fellowship with God through consistent quiet time, personal study, prayers and righteous living, makes the difference. Finally, Lamech prophesied into the life of his son by the name he gave him. What type of name do you bear- whether physically and spiritually? Like Jabez, we can cry unto heaven for a change of name. May the Lord give us more understanding.
