Genesis Chapter 40:12-15 & 23 ... He is in jail and at the point of this text by the time you get to Genesis 40 Joseph has been in jail between 8 and 11 years. We don’t have a more specific time table given to us in the text but we know he has been in jail somewhere between 8 and 11 years for a crime he did not commit and yet he is in the center of GODS will…GOD has him right where he wants him. Now the cup bearer and the baker of the king have been thrown in jail, they’ve offended the king in some way. They’ve been thrown in jail they have dreams. And when Joseph who is in charge of them and several other prisoners because the hand of the LORD was upon him and the warden gave him overseeing responsibilities, when he saw that these two men were dejected and inquired about it, they well l we’ve had these dreams and we don’t know what they mean? Joseph said; tell them to me, the GOD I serve is able to straighten this out. They told the dreams and indeed GOD gave the interpretation. Now the baker shouldn’t have asked for his interpretation. His interpretation is that in three days you’re going to die. Pharaoh will have you killed. The cup bearers’ interpretation was in three days you’re going to have your job given back to you. Pharaohs going to have a change of heart, he is going to give you give you back your job and you will be serving him again just as used to do. Then Joseph made a simple request of the cup bearer. He said when all goes well with you. When this dream comes to pass and in three days you’re restored to your job…REMEMBER ME AND SHOW ME KINDNESS. I’ve served you while you’ve been here. I’ve taken care of your needs and now GOD used me to encourage you that in three days you’re getting out of here. All I ask of you in return is that you will show me kindness and tell Pharaoh about me. Tell him I’m a man of GOD Tell him I did not try to rape that woman and Get me out of this prison because I’ve done nothing to deserve being here. Now folks I submit to you that that’s a very reasonable request. That’s a reasonable request when you’ve taken care of someone done right by them and they have within their power the ability to do some good for you, it is reasonable that you would expect them to do just that. But that brings me to a theme we need to chat about at this point. We need to talk about a group of people in your life and in mine, and in the lives of all of us who would be in the center of GOD’S will and experience his destiny for our lives. All of us will have or we already have a group of people that I call Disappointers.
